# List of Divisibility Rules

When we talk about whether a number is divisible by another, all we really mean is if that number can be divided by another number and leave no remainder.

So, for example, if you divide one whole number (an integer) by another whole number, is the answer to that sum also a whole number? If it is, then it is divisible, but if it is not an integer and has decimal places, then it's not divisible.

You could easily just divide any number by another using a calculator and see if the result is a whole number, but you can also use the divisibility rules or a test of divisibility.

In the articles below we'll cover the divisibility rules for each number and these will help you to quickly check the divisibility of very large numbers, often in cases where you don't have or are not allowed to use a calculator to help you.
