# Is 567 Divisible By Anything?

In this article we will find out if 567 is divisible by any other whole number.

What do we mean by divisible? When we talk about whether a number is divisible by another, all we really mean is if that number can be divided by another number and leave no remainder.

So, for example, if you divide one whole number (an integer) by another whole number, is the answer to that sum also a whole number? If it is, then it is divisible, but if it is not an integer and has decimal places, then it's not divisible.

So is 567 divisible by anything? The answer is always yes! Every whole number is divisible by both itself and the number 1 (apart from the number 1, which is just divisible by 1).

For 567 specifically, it is divisible by the 10 number(s) below:

• 1
• 3
• 7
• 9
• 21
• 27
• 63
• 81
• 189
• 567

If you want those numbers in a nice comma separated list for some reason, here are all the divisors of 567: 1, 3, 7, 9, 21, 27, 63, 81, 189, and 567.

We can call these numbers the divisors of 567 or the factors of 567 and factors are a very important part of math that you will spend a lot of time learning about as a student or teaching as a teacher.

We can even test out whether or not the numbers in the list above actually are divisors of 567 by actually dividing 567 by them. If the answer is a whole number, then we know that it's not a divisor:

• 567/1 = 567
• 567/3 = 189
• 567/7 = 81
• 567/9 = 63
• 567/21 = 27
• 567/27 = 21
• 567/63 = 9
• 567/81 = 7
• 567/189 = 3
• 567/567 = 1

See how all of the bold answers above are whole numbers? That proves that 567 is divisible by 1, 3, 7, 9, 21, 27, 63, 81, 189, and 567.

There are actually 9 different divisibility rules that you can follow if you are trying to work with large numbers and we'll try to cover those rules in more detail in a future article.
